Granular ‘A’ (A-Gravel)
A free draining manufactured product consisting of sand and crushed gravel. Typically used for road surface topping for driveways and roadways and is typically placed prior to asphalt placement. All Granular ‘A’ materials at Morden Sand and Gravel facilities are carefully manufactured and regularly tested to meet Ontario Ministry of Transportation’s Specifications.
Granular ‘B’ (B-Gravel)
A free draining product that can be manufactured (screened Granular ‘B’) or out of pit bank (pit run Granular ‘B’). This material is one of the most widely used soils in the construction industry for things such as general filling of sites, underneath Granular ‘A’ material and many other applications. All Granular ‘B’ materials at Morden Sand and Gravel facilities are carefully manufactured and regularly tested to meet Ontario Ministry of Transportation’s Specifications.
SCREENINGS - NP
Crushed 1/4” limestone with fines used under patio stones and bricks. This product can be used as a driveway topping, but it has a tendency to track. Packs very hard.
LANDSCAPE STONE AND PRODUCTS
They come in a variety of sizes and colours.
CRUSHED CONCRETE
Crushed concrete is made up of asphalt debris from other construction projects that can be reused to create driveways, pathways, garden beds and more.
CRUSHED ASPHALT
Recycled asphalt pavement crushed into gravel.
DRAINAGE STONE
Drainage Stone is a porous gravel material designed to manage the flow of water in a drain.
WINTER SAND - NP
A fine aggregate intended for application to roadways during winter conditions to improve frictional properties of the pavement surface.
CLEAR STONE
Clear Stone is generally used for drainage, around weeping tiles, window wells, and as a base for poured concrete.
TOP SOIL
Our topsoil is screened and easy to work with. It allows water and nutrients to flow through the soil for a healthy lawn or garden.
TRIPLE MIX
Triple Mix is recommended for planting beds. There is a mix of 1/3 screened soil, 1/3 manure, and 1/3 peat loam.
CLAY
Clay, because of its density, retains moisture well. It also tends to be more nutrient-rich than other soil types.
BOLDERS
Adding boulders to gardens or a front entrance can help add interest, depth and texture to your outdoor living space.
SAND
Sand is used in aquariums, for creating artificial reefs, and in man-made beaches or in sandboxes.
RIVERSTONE
Used in perimeter drains, septic fields, and for decorative purposes. It may also be used as a construction material for wall facades and walkways, interior design projects.
CLEAN FILL
Commonly used for installing a walkway, building a retaining wall, adding a gazebo and even putting up a fence.
B GRAVEL - NP
B gravel is meant to stand up to more frequent and heavier use.
A GRAVEL - NP
A gravel is designed to be able to allow for drainage of water when necessary.
